Liz and I spent a beautiful morning on a St. Croix riverboat tour with the Twin Cities Museum Meetup group. After the captain of the Princess docked the boat, we walked around glacial potholes in Interstate State Park, then drove to the Gammelgården Museum in Scandia for the annual Spelmansstämma (Immigrant Fiddle Festival). When the music was over, we walked around the grounds and I took a close up of this lone honeybee on an end-of-summer pilgrimage. Liz reminded me that it’s National Honeybee Day. I have gratitude for the day and the place in which we live. It is filled with wonder.
It sounds like a wonderful outing, QM. 🙂

Thanks, Robin. It was a beautiful weekend at Taylors Falls and Scandia. We took a lot of photographs. I was shooting film that day, so we’ll see how they come out. Dropped the film off yesterday to be developed. Then Liz and I signed up Sunday to shoot film on a Free Film project and went out shooting Tri-X 400 last night. We also took a collagraphy class last week. An overall creative few weeks. Feels exhilarating. Hope your week is going well. Weren’t you listening to Woodstock?! I’ve got the original on vinyl. But Liz saw they released the 50th Anniversary edition. A lot of fun!

I saw (on Instagram) that you were shooting film and ended up following the Free Film project. I can’t remember the last time I used film. I inherited a bunch of old cameras when my father-in-law died, including an Eastman Kodak Brownie. I don’t know what I’ll do with them, but it would be fun if I could find film and play with them.
We had an entire weekend of Woodstock beginning at 5 PM on Thursday and running until Sunday morning. xpn.org played it as it happened so there was a lot of music in the middle of the night. I heard some of the middle of the night stuff, missed some of it (by falling asleep), and really enjoyed it. It was fun. Then I felt exhausted when it was over. lol! I told my husband that we should have stayed outside all weekend to listen. We even had some rain for the rain breaks.

Robin, love that you had rain for the rain breaks! That sounds like such a fun thing to do. I have the original Woodstock LP on vinyl. But Liz was telling me they re-released a newer version with songs that were not on the original album. I bet you were listening to that! Beautiful!
I have an old Brownie, too. Liz and I have a small camera collection. We love old cameras. I was shooting with my last film camera, a Canon Rebel 2000. It was really fun for both of us to go out shooting film with a goal in mind. I hope you get to explore your film cameras more. You can still get film for most of them online, with the exception of some of the Polaroids. I have always loved your photography. Did you shoot film when you first started shooting photography? Or only digital?
