This is a photo I took last summer, my grandson decided to play a practical joke on us by loading the fridge with trolls! Had to take a picture of that!

What is on my D or no D? BITE ME from Assateague Island, two PSU football player cards that match the jerseys my daughter and I have, a picture of my honey, weight loss ideas, a school photo of my bonus son.
When we posted WRITING TOPIC — MY REFRIGERATOR on red Ravine last week, our readers were inspired to take photographs of their refrigerators. The above are a few of the images we received. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. We’d love to see the inside/outside of your refrigerator. If you are so inspired, send your FridgeFotos to info@redRavine.com. Or make a list of what’s inside/outside of your refrigerator and join us in a Writing Practice. When inspiration strikes, follow the Muse!

What a treat, to see these refrigerator shots! I love that little silver troll peeking out of the refrigerator drawer. 8)
And reccos, does the Bite Me refer to mosquitoes? Are the mosquitoes on the island pretty big?

yb, the trolls are pretty cool! How does one collect so many trolls? Remember when they first came out?
I didn’t understand what the Bite Me was in reccos62’s comment until I saw the photo. Having been down near Assateague Island one summer, I DO think it’s the mosquitoes!

Chickenlil: I love the trolls!!! I think that is the coolest thing i have seen! (no pun intended!) i had trolls when i was a kiddo, and i love the invasion!
Yb and QM, yes, the bite me is about mosquitos. it also is a play on the stickers that the beaches use to identify which beach you “belong to”. (OBX is outer banks, NC for example) The mosquito icon is about true to size- or at least thats how it feels when they swarm on you. One year we looked like we had chicken pox…but most years we have been lucky and not had many bites. Assateaque remains a favorite place for me, my offspring, and now other family members who have joined us there to camp.

I found something for you, reccos, that might relate to the big mosquitoes of Assateague:
How do you know if you have a tough mosquito ?
You slap him and he slaps you back !

I have been out of town for a few days, just surprised to see the troll-fridge here, as I had tried to insert it in a comment. Thanks, hope you enjoyed the photo, it did give us a laugh. My sons, now 26 and 30, were big collectors of trolls back in the 90s…so we have a whole bunch of them…many more than you see here. Doctor, dentist, astronaut, football player, pirate, etc. My grandsons however have taken their outfits apart, so they are not as pristine “collectible” as they were, but have been loved a lot. ;>) Now, is there any use for old baseball cards?

chickenlil, I love your troll photo. Very original! We tried to drop the photos we got into the comments but had some trouble with the logistics, so decided to just do a separate post. Trolls are a classic. I wonder if you have some valuable baseball cards in your stash? We watch American Pickers and Antiques Road Show and they are always finding treasures among old collections that people have around.
reccos62, on the trip home where I took Liz along, we did make it to Chincoteague. I remember it was a blistering hot day and lots of biting bugs out. We wimped out and decided not to hike around. But we did do some geocaching. Beautiful country down there. I think it’s cool that it’s become a family tradition for you.

chickenlil, I know I am old when you talk about the boys collecting trolls in the 1990’s and I remember collecting them in the 1970’s. Enjoyed the trolls in the fridge picture a lot.

Bob, I think the trolls made a comeback in the ’90s. I know I am old because I remember them in the 70s too. Glad you liked them, they have a universal appeal – cute and ugly at the same time!

[…] Maybe I love our refrigerator because it reminds me of days when I ate cheese and mayonnaise sandwiches on soft bread. Not Gruyere or dill Havarti, but plain old yellow cheese. Before we knew that mayonnaise would clog your arteries and that soft bread would make you soft, too, and when the only people who ate chewy bread was the woman in the Nude Drawing class who wore her long braids in two buns on each side of her head, and the only way she got chewy bread was by making it herself. -Related to posts WRITING TOPIC — MY REFRIGERATOR and FridgeFotos – Assateague Island To Frozen Trolls […]
