Is that what IX of Wands is about? New directions?

ybonesy, the IX of Wands by itself is about perseverance. Standing your ground, holding down the fort, even though you feel like you’ve been through the grinder. Reversed, the IX of Wands would be about letting go or surrender. Or moving forward and finding an easier way to do it.
It was when I did the 3-card Solution Spread that I got the wider meaning of the card for me (for yesterday anyway). I drew The Tower (major upheaval) for the Background, the VI of Wands for the Problem (and my relationship to the image appearing there), and the Knight of Cups for the Solution. These three cards in relationship to the IX of Wands led me to move in a new direction, as opposed to standing my ground, or giving up altogether.
That was the wider meaning for me. The IX of Wands alone is a tough cookie. But lacks the fire one has in the beginning of a dream or the fight of midway. Choices have to be made. Only my interpretation, of course. And today — I drew the VII of Swords, reversed. I rarely draw Swords. They are an air sign.
