I’ve never actually found a four-leaf clover.

I think they’re pretty darned rare, to tell the truth. My daughter found the one above on her first foray into the yard last spring looking for four-leaf clovers. She has Irish blood on my husband’s side, so guess she has the luck of the Irish. (Read that with an Irish accent.) 8)
Thanks for stopping by. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Happy St Patties to you all! Erin go Bragh!
I forgot my green today and someone made me a green dot sticker that says… “I’m Polish”… with a happy face. I’m still wearing it. I’m not polish.

I can’t believe that the Queen of Halloween forgot St. Patty’s Day. Don’t you know every holiday? Or is yours only a ghoulish fascination….waaaaaahhhhhhh…. 8)

I’m more German than anything else, however I know there is Irish blood on J’s side of the family.
Today, I went for an interview. Yesterday I really had to put several outfits together in order to find the right one. I wasn’t going out to buy a new one. I simply decided on a pair of black slacks, a tailored blouse, & of course a lime green jacket in honor of St. Patricks day. I felt relaxed & things went very well. (crossed fingers). The lady I interviewed with was impressed, even though I have no experience in the field I applied for. I will know for certain what position she is willing to hire me for early next week. I came highly recommended by someone I used to work with. Today I feel the luck of the Irish.
As far as 4 leaf clovers, give me a patch & I always find one. I think there has to be someone special to do that. Your daughter has that special “thing”.
Hope everyone had a great day! D

Right on, diddy. I hope you do have the luck of the Irish for today’s interview. And besides being impressed with the professional skills you demonstrated, surely they were impressed with your good nature in dressing in lime green on St. Patrick’s Day. 8)
I have in my life, when I was a child, found at least a couple of four-leaf clovers, but I could spend hours lying on the grass near a patch of clover, searching. I don’t know if I had luck so much as I did persistence.

Good job on the post, ybonesy. I was out from late afternoon until later tonight. Just catching up. And diddy’s right, quite a bit of Irish blood on our side of the family. Aunt Cassie would be proud. 8)
diddy, so glad you had an interview today. You have great taste in fashion, color, tailoring. I’ve always noticed that about you. I bet you looked fantastic. And you are a four leaf clover girl, too? I didn’t know you found them often. I’ve only ever found one in my life. If I recall, it was in Montana, a summer field.
Happy Saint Patty’s Day all!

Oh, heather, I did wear green today but it was kind of an accident. Didn’t realize until later how it fit well with the day. You crack me up, BTW. What a sense of humor. 8)

QM, Geminis are known for our sense of style. 😉
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, what’s left of it. We got our green on today. 8)

Yeah, we squeaked in. 8) I didn’t know that about Geminis. Or maybe you have mentioned it in one of your fashion posts. Come to think of it, you and diddy do kind of have that same smart fashion sense, something I’m lacking. I dress, well, I just dress like me. I’ve always wanted to be different, but I’m just not. 8) Mom always looks good, too. She’s always looked really young for her age.
diddy, did you watch American Idol tonight? Liz had taped it so I had to watch when I got home. Speaking of fashion, I’m always curious as to what they will wear and how it fits them and the songs they choose. What was with Danny Gokey’s white jacket tonight? Not the greatest choice, not his best night. He’s a fave of mine though. I thought there were some good performances tonight. I like Matt’s voice, too, but I can never remember his name. And Lil rocks! Liz likes Adam but what was with his Ring of Fire?! Anoop did a good job with the Willie Nelson, Always On My Mind. Okay, I’m heading to bed. 8)

I guess I could claim 1/4 Irish due from my maternal grandmother. She was pretty Irish, but her family had been in Arkansas along the Mississippi River since before the Civil War.
Tonight I had to prove to our newest teacher (here since August), the new guy from Boston that there was no St. Paddy’s Day…or Guiness in Venezuela. He did not believe me. He said this is a national holiday in Boston!
He drug me out of my apartment and we walked a 1/2 mile after sundown to a bar that he heard had Guiness. We got there and it was closed. I was happy. I just wanted to come back to my apartment before something weird happened. One the way home, I stopped in our local farmacia and bought OJ and 2 chocolate bars. I enjoyed one of the chocolate bars while watching TV. That is what I wanted to do in the first place!

QM, I liked Adam’s version of Ring of Fire. It had a Doors quality to it, I thought, with the sitar. Jim liked it, too, which is rare. Jim is not a fan of pop, and most of the Idol singers are pretty pop-ish.
I love Lil Rounds. And what’s up with Simon calling her “Little.” Hulllooo? She is so beautiful and what a voice!
I don’t really know many of the guys’ names, like Matt, and there’s Scott (I know him). But I only ever get to watch Idol in dribs and drabs, so I’ve never really seen a whole group of them sing at once. I know Grace and Alexis—is that her name? They’re great.
I’ll watch it tonight since I don’t have any meetings, and hopefully I catch all the ones I missed last night. (Plus, Em was going back and forth with Dancing with the Stars, which she won’t have to do tonight.)

MM, it must be hard for the Boston teacher to have to give up his big holidays from back home. And the Guiness, although that’s one beer that makes me feel really bad fast.
I remember living in Spain how hard it was when Thanksgiving rolled around. I was so lonely.
Glad you got your chocolate bar and didn’t drink Guiness!!

I like Guiness. I drank plenty of it in Scotland. It was good after cycling, but about 9 days into my trip, everything; the local food, the dark beer started feeling heavy. I’d reached my limit. I switched to lager in the pubs, and lighter food.

QM & yb, thanks for the good wishes on my interview. I felt so ridiculous emailing them my resume. It was loaded with transportation experience & the position I applied for is in a medical billing office. But, since I have only held 5 jobs since graduating high school, I’m sure that helped. I chose the jacket last minute, though I have many blazers I could have worn instead. I’ll keep you posted.
Of course I watched American Idol! I love Lil! She has awesome range. Anoop was also good, which I didn’t really expect. I had mixed feelings about Adam’s rendition of Ring of Fire & Danny was also not at his best. Lil & Danny have been favorites so far, though I do like the edgy girl with red hair also.
BTW, I saw on the Today Show yesterday that the most leaves ever found on a single clover was 14! Can you even imagine that? Wow! D

There is only ONE TRUE HOLIDAY yb. The rest are Flotsam and Jetsam… I have no idea what that means but I heard it in a M. Jagger song long ago and jotted it down for just such an occasion 😉

LOL. I love that…flotsam and jetsam. Isn’t it the gunk (another good word) that you sometimes see floating with the foamy stuff on the top of a water puddle? I don’t know, to tell the truth.
And yes, your ONE TRUE HOLIDAY happens to be my favorite.

Fourteen, diddy?! Wow. I guess that’s mutant clover, eh?
I got to see a snippet of Anoop tonight, and he was good. He cracks me up, how he always wears his golf shirt. He’s not so stylish, is he? Or, rather, I guess he has his own sort of geeky style.
Too bad Alexis Grace got eliminated tonight, but man, there wasn’t anyone I wanted to see go. I felt her song was a really tough one. I like it—Jolene. Didn’t Dolly Parton sing that? But she didn’t hit all the notes in her final performance.

yb, I’m with you on not wanting to see any of them go. I thought perhaps the judges would use their one save to keep Alexis. She was very good & has the star quality looks.
That 14 leaf clover really surprised me. I can’t remember where they say it was located. D

I was kind of sad to see Alexis go, to tell you the truth. Last night, it was hard to choose a person I wanted to leave the competition. I do think that last song choice, Jolene, was a great song but I didn’t like her arrangement. It didn’t show her true range.
And when she was singing for the judges to keep her at the end, terrible performance. It’s got to be hard at that moment when you know it’s do or die. If she keeps her head up, she’ll go far though. There can only be one winner on American Idol. The rest will have to keep their dream alive by not giving up!

Oh yeah, she seemed so nervous, so defeated in that last performance. However, in terms of her overall potential, I think she was better than some of the others who are still in the final 10.

How did I miss this the other day? I love green.
My Grandfather and I shared a remarkable trait: Both of us could look at a patch of clover and find the four-leafed variety. I don’t know how rare that is….
Happy belated St. Paddy’s.
