yb, what a great haiku! I’m so glad that you had such a wonderful day! Perfect photo by Jim (love the hat!) What a nice tribute! Jim sounds like a good father!
My Mother’s Day was a relaxing one, and though I did not see our son’s, I received calls from both & other’s from two of my niece’s & friends. I felt a bit sad about not being with my own Mom & had some very personal, sentimental feelings about my Grandmother’s. D

yb, SUCH a sweet haiku! It brought to my mind something I once heard, that the best gift a father can give his child is to love his/her mother!
I recently discovered the names of four great-great grandmothers and fathers that I had not known before. It was thrilling! One’s first name was Cirena. My cat’s name is Serena, (alreay named when I picked her out at the Humane Society.) I picked her because she kept reaching out to me, as if to say, “You HAVE to pick me!” She is the most loving cat I have ever shared my home and life with. Now I’m not sure that maybe I should be calling her Great-Granny! (smile)

Thanks, diddy and oliverowl!! Happy belated Mother’s Day to you both.
Cool that you each felt particularly close to grandmothers and great-grandmothers. diddy, I saw the poem you picked for your grandmother — very nice. I loved the last stanza. That’s nice that your nieces remembered you, too. I saw my nieces and nephews yesterday at my mom’s house. We had an impromptu gathering, each bringing a dish so that she wouldn’t have to cook on her special day. It was more fun than I’ve had on a Mother’s Day for a long time.
oliverowl, that is very wild about Cirena and Serena. Hmmm…. Hey, isn’t the name Cirena gorgeous?! I love it. Do you happen to know where she’s from? It has a Spanish ring to it.

ybonesy, I never got a chance to comment on this haiku post yesterday. How wonderful. Really cool graphic photo. And it works nicely with the haiku. I’m glad you had a great Mother’s Day. You deserve it!
Same to you diddy and oliverowl. Owl, that story about Serena is just amazing. I love the spelling, Cirena, too. I’m curious, too, about where’s she from. You might have mentioned it when we were talking about it a few weeks ago. Now I’m curious.
Scot, thanks for dropping by!
diddy, I read the poem, but want to go read it again. I’ll do that now! Comment 54 on Got Poetry? (National Poem In Your Pocket Day) — (LINK)

Wordsworth. Beautiful. 8) diddy, I talked to Mom briefly on Mother’s Day. She was out roaming around with R3 and reccos62. Sounded like they were having fun. Wish I could have been there!
