This weekend red Ravine passed the 10,000-views mark and, well, we wanted to shout out to all you readers: Thanks for clicking! We went live on April 7, and we’re having a blast.
What all this has to do with Back of the Napkin? Nothing, except I happened to doodle on one. But that’s the beauty of blogging. It’s ours to make up along the way.
We really do appreciate you if you’re out there reading this. We especially love the commenting, but lurking is fine, too. We did that for a long time ourselves before speaking up. Hope you’ll eventually speak up, too, if you haven’t already.
Here’s to 100,000 views.
Congratulations! Of course, I couldn’t see the number 10,000 without thinking about the number of steps most experts recommend that we walk everyday to stay fit.
So here’s to Red Ravine’s journey to 100,000 views from someone who, since I first started to wear a pedometer on October 19, 2005, has (as of May 20, 2007) walked more than 10.9 million steps or 5,166 miles, mostly within a 3.5 square-mile-area.
Take it a step at a time!

Thanks so much for all of your support. I can’t tell you how much it means to us. The community we are meeting is supportive and fun. And worth all the hours of work that have gone into red Ravine!
It’s great to support other sites, too. And that is part of the appeal of blogging. Community.
neath, I saw you had a milestone recently on Walking Turcot Yards. Congrats to you as well! I love the photographs on your site and visit there often.
Thanks again, everyone. And thanks for hanging in there with me, ybonesy. (the napkin is priceless, BTW. beginner’s mind at her best!) I’m with Mimbres Man, Here’s to 10,000 x 10!

Eiehhhh. I had a thought when I was eating breakfast and drinking coffee and checking out the Guest Writer’s piece on the blog this morning – I also want to thank my partner who has been a whirlwind of energy and support for me over the last few months during the launch of red Ravine.
It takes a lot to get something like this going and her support for my late nights and crazy attention to detail has been unwavering. If you’re reading this on your trip out to Wyoming this weekend, Thanks! And I love you!

LOL…I thought you were referring to me, and then I saw the part about Wyoming and I thought, Wyoming? I’m not going to Wyoming??
Ha! Thanks, Liz, from me, too!

LOL. Hey, ybonesy, of course, all that applies to you, too. Especially to you – my partner in crime! 8)
Hey, thanks for your support, and blog savvy, and great attention to detail. I’ve learned a TON since we started all of this – and about a lot more than blogging.
THANKS!

While we’re on the Back of the Napkin, I just wanted to add that we hit our 1000 mark of SPAM snagged in the Akismet SPAM catcher. They eliminate all the junk we don’t want around. To me that seems like another battle won in the war on SPAM. Two thumbs up.

Oh, here’s the AKISMET link. It’s free for personal use. And while I was there, I noticed this:
Live Spam Zeitgeist:
1,483,085,828 spams caught so far
6,150,993 so far today
95% of all comments are spam
Isn’t that staggering?

It is. And most of them are either having to do with sex or weight loss drugs. Today we got a roofing contractor. First time I’ve seen that.
