WOW. After checking out that shark attack site today, I can see how this practice came about! Wild energy. Wild mind.

Yes, instead of existential angst, which the painting The Scream is said to represent, mine is oceanic angst.

I’m too “mamita” to check out the shark site. I like going out in the kayak too much to give me something else worry about when I am paddling. Luckily sharks are not a major concern in this part of the Caribbean.
I like the drawing. 😮

How about this angst-free guy… “Man Swims 3,272-Mile Amazon in 65 Days“? He said he was lucky to have escaped encounters with piranhas, the dreaded bloodsucking toothpick fish that swims into body orifices, and bull sharks that swim in shallow waters and can live for a while in fresh water. It takes all kinds.

Wow, check out that guy’s route through the Amazon on his TripTracker map. I looked at the images, too. Am I to understand that he reached his destination today? That guy’s nuts.

ybonesy,
I’m glad you tagged this in the Laughing category. Every time I look at it I smile.

Skywire: I checked out that Amazon swimmer–wow! I can’t imagine swimming with bloodsucking fish. Although, here’s a new “if this, then what?” question for you: If you had to swim (fill in the blank with some amount of time) in a body of water, would you pick the Amazon or the Pacific Ocean? I’d pick the Amazon and take my chances with blood suckers versus great whites.
Mimbres Man: I love the word “mamita” to describe someone who’s kind of chicken about things. I’m going to start using it.
QM: Yes, it’s a smiler for sure. Thanks go to Mimbres Man for inspiring me to do the drawing after our robust 🙂 conversation on sharks.

Would I swim in the Amazon or the Pacific? Hmmm, I had to ponder this one awhile and get some other’s opinions. And I’ll go with my first instinct, which is the Pacific. The Amazon has always freaked me out; the snakes and sorted fishes. I have imagined what it would be like to visit the Amazon but I know I’m too squeamish to even walk around on land let alone water. So since I’ve been swimming in the Pacific before, I’ll take that. Oh, but I forgot to ask, do I get a boogie-board to hang on to?

No, no boogie board. Just swimming–you, the water, the creatures.
